This webinar will focus on the development activity in Leeds and the wider city region, whilst also addressing some of the key issues and challenges which we as an industry face in the coming months. Speakers will be invited to share details on their current development programme and future pipelines as well as providing advice and opinion on what the industry needs to do to survive the current crisis, what is requires in the short term and how we will manage the increased demand and activity once the UK recovers.

Speakers for this event include:

  • Bradford College – have committed to redeveloping ‘The Old Building’, an unused grade II-listed building on its campus into nearly 200 apartments. Sue will reveal more about this redevelopment and give us more insight into the college’s future estates development plans.
  • The Guinness Partnership – will build the biggest development in their history in Leeds; 928 homes will be built near the Royal Armories with 35% made for the affordable housing market. We’ll find out more about this scheme and Guinness’ wider plans to build 5,500 new homes by 2024 and 12,500 over the next 10 years.
  • Wheelabrator Technologies – Wheelabrator have plans for a massive new energy from waste plant on the outskirts of Leeds; the 19.5 acre site will use 410,000 tonnes of non-recyclable household and business waste to power around 100,000 homes per year. Paul will reveal more details about the benefits of this scheme to the Leeds City Region.
  • Strata Homes – have plans to build 437 homes on the site of a former tank factory in east Leeds near the Thorpe Park business estate. Nigel will take us through the vast benefits the scheme will bring and reveal more about the plans Strata have in the wider Leeds City Region.
