Event Information:

This webinar will focus on the need to accelerate the delivery of new homes across the UK.

It will take more than a webinar to solve the housing crisis however, there are many different opinions as to what we need to do to begin the process. Housebuilders, councils, housing associations and developers will come together in the first of our UK housing webinars to provide their solutions to the challenge that the UK faces to build more homes. Speakers will share their current development plans and proposed schemes and also address some of the challenges that the industry faces, not just during this difficult period but also when the market recovers.

Speakers include:

  • Rentplus – With the government committed to expanding rent to buy, and the housing minister confirming rent to buy for affordable home ownership tenure within the NPPF, Rentplus has £2bn of funds to immediately invest in rent to buy properties. Rentplus is seeking new local authority and housing association partners.  They have a current pipeline of 10,000 new homes with 5,000 due to be in contract by 2020.  They’ve already supported families to start saving towards home ownership across Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds, Northampton and Cambridgeshire, with plans to deliver many more homes this year across the country.
  • Homes England – with £2.3bn worth of capital grant funding to accelerate the development of new homes in England and Wales, Paul will give an overview of Homes England development priorities, in particular which major developments they are bringing to market as a priority and will help the built environment supply chain can understand the sheer scale of opportunity for involvement.
  • Thirteen Group – As one of the UK’s most active and innovative social housing developer, Chris is leading a £1bn rolling development programme across the North East aiming to deliver thousands of homes and regenerate previously ‘left behind’ areas. On the frontline of solving the housing crisis, Chris will talk through, in depth, their upcoming schemes and go into detail about how the audience can contribute to Thirteen’s ambition.
  • Fruition Properties – Bringing their unique perspective to this discussion, Parul will talk about the massive potential that airspace property developers have in helping to solve the housing crisis. With millions of pounds of development in the pipeline across the London skyline, Parul is well placed to tackle questions around complex planning issues and development and is keen to engage with the built environment supply chain to help grow their business.
  • AECOM – is the world’s premier infrastructure firm – planners, designers, engineers, consultants – who thrive on delivering legacies for cities and communities. John leads a team, based in the UK, that focuses on driving AECOM’s diverse residential offer and is responsible for the delivery of AECOM and Rogers, Stirk Harbour + Partners offsite volumetric housing solution, INNO. Passionate about transforming our construction industry and delivering better places for people through smarter process and increased productivity, John will share how AECOM is working with clients to help realise and accelerate housing, as well as discuss the integration and collaboration needed to increase the adoption of modern methods of construction.
