ConTech Series: What Is The Real Future For BIM?

To meet the future demands of growing populations and the need for economic growth, the property and construction industry must look to smarter, more efficient ways to design and build, not just as a means to keep with the UK’s development, but also to help create spaces that are smarter and more resilient. This webinar will explore the future of BIM and how it can help our industry meet future demand for development in and quicker and smarter way.

This webinar is part of a new series on the future of the construction industry which are taking place over the coming months, and will explore the next big trends, innovations and challenges the industry needs to prepare for.

We will gather major industry influencers and free thinkers to discuss the challenges and opportunities that will be present across the built environment in the years to come.

  • Environment Agency – Karen specialises in asset data and information and will give an insight into the Environment Agency’s digital journey. The Environment Agency has been putting a lot of effort into digitising previously analogue information and data, and applying a common digital transformation strategy. She will share some thought leadership on her work to implement BIM across the organisation’s more than 500 projects, and use the technology to develop client capability.
  • TPPS – Tim has a lifetime of experience in the construction industry and property sector with BIM being a particular passion. Tim will give thought leadership on his advocacy for BIM, what its real future is and how it will help us create spaces that are smarter and more resilient to meet future demand.
  • Atkins Global – Anne was recognised with an OBE in 2019 for the role she has played in helping the UK understand how the construction and infrastructure sectors can adopt a digital approach to better design, build, operate, and integrate the built environment. Anne has been with Atkins for 24 years and has acted as advisor to a wide range of clients including HS2 and Heathrow Airport. She is currently a part of the leadership for wider digital transformation of the Group, providing valuable insight into future direction for their delivery teams and clients. Alongside her role at Atkins, Anne is Chair of UK BIM Alliance.
  • ABB – Emanuele has led ABB Electrification’s Building Information Modeling initiative since 2017, focusing his efforts on processes and organizational development. He has met with hundreds of developers and consultants, worldwide, who have contributed towards the development of their BIM offering through their enthusiasm to learn and develop what’s most valuable for them from ABB. Emanuele will give more intel on ABB’s services in this session.
