Scottish housebuilder Springfield Properties continue to drive the delivery of housing in Scotland as they announce a detailed planning application has been submitted for a new development. The 1.98-hectare site, located in Gartcosh, has been highlighted to deliver 42 new homes with plans now submitted the local authorities.

Springfield Properties, who’ll be speaking at the Edinburgh Development Plans Conference in April, are a real driving force behind Scotland’s bid to deliver additional housing and they’re leading the way in innovation too. Some of their current projects include the creation of five new villages across Scotland which will see over 10,000 new homes being built, a 100% affordable housing development in Duns which will see 75 new homes created, and the announcement that they’ll include electric car cabling at all new builds to future proof homes for an expected surge in car technology over the next 10-15 years.

The plans, which have been submitted to North Lanarkshire Council, will neighbour Mount Ellen Golf Club and have good infrastructure links to key locations such as the nearby shopping centre. The homes will be a mix of three and four bedroom homes – taken from the ‘Springfield Alba’ range of homes, and as per their recent announcement they’ll be kitted out with electric car charging cables.

Innes Smith, Chief Executive at Springfield Properties, said of the plans: ”This new development is in a great location. There are handy commuter routes a stone’s throw away, it’s nearby the Glasgow Fort Shopping Centre and right next door to Mount Ellen Golf Course. The development will introduce new jobs to Gartcosh whilst supporting local businesses and suppliers. With plenty of open space throughout the development, bordered with existing woodland, we are confident our plans will be a positive addition to the area.”
