Event Information:

This webinar will focus on the future infrastructure and energy needs of the UK.

Developing our future energy needs is potentially the biggest infrastructure project the UK will have ever seen.

This webinar will explore the sector alongside influential voices who’re at the forefront of some of the largest energy related development activity including the £8bn Sizewell C Nuclear Power Plant in the East of England, and the £3.5bn Liverpool Tidal scheme.

We’ll cover also cover all the crucial topics when it comes to energy infrastructure, from funding, to developing research clusters, new energy plants and sources, and the connection and integration of these schemes into future developments and needs.

Speakers for this event include:

  • Liverpool City Region Combined Authority – With the exciting £3.5bn River Mersey Renewable Energy project in the works, Shaun will talk about the enormous benefits it will bring to the city and it’s net zero ambition, timeline for development and the Combined Authority’s sustainable development practices.
  • Sizewell C – EDF are wanting to develop Sizewell C, a new nuclear power station which will provide around 7% of the UK’s electricity; enough for around six million homes. Off the back of the proposed power station EDF want to construct a hydrogen plant and also have plans to make the nearby town of Leiston the first net zero town in the UK by investing in EV and solar infrastructure
  • Sembcorp – With a land portfolio of 562 acres and individual plots for development available from 2.5 up to 66 acres, Sembcorp’s Wilton International can accommodate diverse industrial needs. All plots are fully serviced – with ‘plug & play’ energy, utilities and industrial infrastructure – and planning is pre-consented for light or heavy industrial uses on selected plots. Cathy will speak about these opportunities and Sembcorp’s future plans.
